Family Visit

Be prepared for a long post of pics. I don't have captions for each of them simple because there were too many. We had a lot of fun having all the family here visiting. It went by so stinking fast. We had 13 people here most of the week, 14 when Danny was around. I had a lot of fun having my house full of family. I hope everyone had fun as well. Our week was full of activities. Shopping at the Legends, visiting Cabela's, eating out at Culver's and Gates, visiting church site: Far West, Adam-Ondi-Ahmen, Indepence, & Liberty Jail. Some of us went to the Royal's game while some of us went shopping and to dinner. We all went to the Gladstone Water park, some of us went to the River Market to get stuff for our yummy BBQ. Of course there was lots of late nights just visiting and of course lots of food. Oh, and we can't forget lots of Wii: Mario Kart racing and hunting. It was a great week, we had been looking forward to this visit for a long time. It's sad that it's already over. We love having visitor's so you all are welcome back anytime you want to come. We miss living by each of you, it's hard being away from our family. Once Danny has us leave built up hopefully we can make it out there. For now here's some pics to look at from the vacation. (Oh, Jason or Tilisa do you have some cute pics that you could send this way and if there's any you want I can send them to you too or anyone else for that matter.)

This is my Joy

I just love these little fellows. Their individual faces really do express their personalities. Nate is my super friendly, social boy. Josh is my little devil, he's just so stubborn, he does what he wants, he doesn't always go with mainstream things. And Colton is a little bit more sober, he's just a content little boy. He'll smile and laugh but it takes more work to get it out of him. I just loved this picture because it captured them so good. (I think Josh's smile looks like a little 'Whooville' kid, don't you think?)

This is the "make-a-goofy-face" picture. I think it's still cute.

Not much smiling going on here. But what do you think of our red door? We love it!

Two of momma's boys. Nathan took this picture of us, I think he did a pretty good job.

Nathan is laughing and rolling around in the grass.

I just love him! It boggles my mind how they can sit in this position let alone for so long too! (Josh refused to let me take his picture by himself so that's why there isn't one of him)

Here comes the Big yellow bus

Okay, so here's my baby getting off the bus from his first day of summer kindergarten, sniff, sniff. The schools out here offer a program for the new kindergartners to come to school, learn how to get around the school without all the other kids and get to know how everything works and learn at the same time. So, today was the first day and it goes all month, he goes from 9-2. This fall he'll go to school from 9-4, crazy huh! I signed him up to ride the bus so he isn't scared in the fall. But this morning I drove him to school because they were allowing the parents to come in and have a little overview of how things work and I wanted, correct that, needed to know how things will work. Well, as soon as we enter the cafeteria where everyone is waiting, the tears start coming. They were just automatic, it made me so sad to realize that my baby Nate is going to school and growing up. I had to fight the tears, and struggled through the whole half hour I was there. I think he is so ready to start school but it just made me sad to know he won't always be home with me. And it was really hard to think about someone else spending the whole day with him, actually it made me nervous because they won't be able to give him the attention that his own mom would. That is the hardest thing to swallow, just hoping that he is treated good and has a good experience while in school and does well. But at the end of the day, he said he had a good day, he liked his lunch, and of course he was so happy cause he got ice cream. I never got ice cream in school so how could it not be a good day!

Great American BBQ-fest

Finally, here are a few new pics of the boys. A few weeks ago, we met up with Bruce, Andrea and the girls and went to the Great American BBQ-fest in Blue Springs, Kansas. (And we were really excited to see them again.) I had seen this on the food network before and was way excited to attend. The smell was so incredible, I just loved the smell. I was a little bummed because there were only a few vendors that actually sold any food. I wanted to try some of the contestants but they don't do that. But we did end up getting some food because you can't go the the Great American BBQ-fest without tasting some food. We got a pulled brisket sandwich that was just okay, nothing great. None the less, it was a fun day. It was a hot day. Bruce's poor family must have been waiting for us forever. Our GPS was not working and we were just going on instinct. We drove the wrong way twice and we went several miles before turning around each time. So, they were stuck in the hot sun. And it gave them plenty of time to buy tickets for the carnival before we even got there. They were generous enough to buy the boys some tickets so they could have some fun. They are sneaky like that. And the boys loved the rides! Here are a few of the pics that we got of them having fun. You will see in the pics that Nate and Josh's faces are very flush and rosy red!
"I really am having fun!"

"I am not letting go of this wheel!"

"WEEEEE!"

"That was fun!"

Insert giggle, giggle, snicker, snicker here!

"Can I go again?"

"Down I go!"

"Man, this is taking forever!"

"Here I come!"

Busy!

Just wanted to let everyone know that I've been a little busy lately. My blog has been getting neglected lately. It's not that I don't want to blog, I just seriously haven't had much time to get to it. And I've been downloading all my pictures to Shutterfly so that I can get them developed. So, my camera has been out of service so to say for the last week. But, we are alive and well just really busy. And really looking forward to all the family coming and visiting us soon. So, hopefully we can get around to the blog soon. Hope everyone else is happy and well!

Colton's Birthday Party

Ok, bare with me here. This is Colton's birthday pictures. There are a lot but I couldn't decide what one's to put on here so I pretty much did them all. I love this kid! He is just so stinkin cute! I think he had a great birthday, not that he even realized it was his birthday. We had carpet laid that day and they were here all day, I didn't plan it that way. They were suppose to come the day before but the carpet wasn't in so poor boy had to put up with the loud installers from 9-4:30. And since they were here all day, he told us that he just wanted to go to Olive Garden so we didn't have to make him dinner. So, we felt like that was a reasonable request to honor. So, we opened up his presents then headed out to dinner. Once we got home, we let the food digest for a little bit then we had cake and ice cream. He loved the cake, I made him his own cake. It's suppose to be a surf board but it didn't come out as well as I would have liked but it still tasted good. And then he got a hat for his big cake. You'll see in the pics that he started getting tired and wanted out of there, he would rub his eyes and then icing would get in his eyes then he'd get madder and do it some more so the poor boy had it all in his eyes but I still managed to take pics. I still can't believe my baby is one! Where did the time go?! Well, here are ALL the pics of this par-TAY! I'll just let the pictures tell the story. There really are too many to put a caption under. Enjoy, this is especially for grandma and grandpa.
