Halloween 2009

This is going to be lots of pictures since I didn't post about our pumpkin carving and it's also of Halloween night!




This is the first year that Nate actually stuck his hand into the pumpkin and pulled out the seeds. He did do a pretty good job cleaning his out.

So, he was suppose to be a doggy this year but refused to wear his costume. So, at the last moment I had to create something with the things we had at home. I looked online and this is what I came up with. He was Interstate 35. This is the best picture I could get of him because he kept ripping off all the cars and the yellow dots. I think we lost a few cars at the church.

All of them dumped their buckets out so that they could examine their loot! They had a fun time and wore themselves out! Another fun Halloween has come and gone!

Pregnancy shot

I decided to take a picture of myself. I am now 19+ weeks a long. So this is where I'm at right now. I'm sure to get much, much bigger by the end. But so far, it's been a really easy, smooth pregnancy. I don't really feel pregnant besides feeling the baby move now and then that's kind of what reminds me that I'm pregnant. Only a few more days until we find out what we are having, YEAH!

Fall Pics

So, I wanted some pictures of the boys with all the pretty leaves. They didn't exactly cooperate the best with us but these are some of the best we could get of them. I like this one of them all looking out at the lake. It's one of my favorites.







(I had to crop this one of him out of another group shot because he was a stinker and absolutely refused to look at the camera. It's a little bit grainy because of that.)

This is some of them just being silly. I thought this next one would look better than what it turned out. I didn't realize the weed was right there.

Pig Man

We may be the meanest parents on the earth. The boys are very familiar with Mr. Pig Man. We wanted to introduce to everyone, Pig Man! So, here he is:

Colton refuses to come into the room. Can you see the tears? He was completely terrified for the rest of the night. He just clung to me until bedtime. We took it down and I showed him it was gone but he was still leery to go in their room.

Gardner Pumpkin Patch

We headed out Monday morning for Gardner Kansas for a day at the pumpkin patch. They had a special for military families and they offered a lot of activities for the price compared to many other places around. It was a lot of fun! It was a little misty and cool but it got warmer the longer we were there. There were lots of slides and tractor rides and bike rides and a haunted barn and much much more. We definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for somewhere to go. And of course the bonus is that you are supporting a local farming family. I know we'll be back next year and as long as the boys think it's cool! And it wouldn't have been complete with out some pumpkins. So, we let them pick out their own pumpkins before we left. Nate got a big one, Colton had no opinion so he got a medium one but we didn't end up getting a picture of theirs. And Josh chose little ones and we did get a picture of his. So here are the pictures we took of the boys, I know it's a lot but I did it anyways.

Picking some gourds. They each got to pick out a gourd. Funny thing is, Josh got himself one and then he picked out a small, decorative orange pumpkin. I told him we didn't need that one and that he already chose his. Well, he told me that he picked it for the "baby gull" (girl) as we pronounced it. I told him the baby didn't need it and on top of that, we don't know if it's a girl and he just continued to insist it was for the "baby gull." So, needless to say we came home with the pumpkin, who can argue with him when he gives you his dimple smile!


Colton is helping Josh carry his pumpkins. Josh didn't want a big one so we let him get 2 of these little things.

This is just one of the many slides they had. They only bad thing was the slight mist made the slides a lot hard for them to slide down. Would have been much funner for them on a dry day.


What farm would be complete without some animals and I don't mean those 3 boys.

Colton's Room

So, we have finally done a few things in Colton's room. When we bought the house his room was purple and there was no way we were having our son sleeping in a purple room so I went to a Lowe's in Utah looked at blue colors and then gave Danny the names, descriptions and numbers and then had him go to the Lowe's in Kansas City and buy one that he liked too. So, that's how we chose his blue color. The hard part was figuring out a theme especially since he will be sharing it will the last baby. We decided on a Hawaiian surfers theme for the room. This way no matter what sex the baby is it will be ok. I bought this tiki hut stuff at Oriental Trading a while back and just finally got around to getting it up. Well, it was bought at the same time, one purchase, and it is not that same stuff. So, half the walls are mismatched. The picture below is the corner were it meets up with the different stuff. The one on the left is (was) a lot fuller and fluffier. The one on the right is thinner. After it was hung up I went through and cut like half of the bulk out of the one so that it would match better. It doesn't look too bad on film. Oh, and sorry about the water spots on the pictures I didn't realize they were there until I was posting.

Of course when we find out what we are having and figure out a name I will put the name for the baby. I would still like to do more with the room. But at least for now his room has some style because I've ran out of decorating money at the moment.

Brotherly love

It's amazing to me the positions that kids can sleep in. Nate has not been staying in his own bed lately, he says he's scared. So, every night I check on them and discover that Nate is sleeping with Josh. This was the position I found them in the other day and just had to take a picture. It's just such an act of brotherly love-that I love it!

The other day I jumped in the shower and got out and started doing my makeup and hair. So, the Josh and Colton were entertaining themselves nicely so I didn't check on them because their was no whining or crying so I didn't want to disturb a good thing. Well, after a little bit Josh came in and said Colton was asleep. So, I went to look at him and this is the position we found him in. Josh was kind enough to put a blanket on his brother and as we came in the room said: "SSSHHHH, Colton sleeping." It was so cute! Just another act of brotherly love. It doesn't get any better than that to see your kids showing love towards one another!

I think there is nothing cuter than a little boy all clean from a shower. I love when the boys are all clean and fresh! And lucky me, I had twice the joy with 2 boys in the shower! Josh got in the shower and Colton wanted in so badly. Colton really enjoys bathing or showering with Josh so I put him in with him. I am really lucky because my boys LOVE the shower at a very young age! It actually makes bath time really easy around our house. So, here are a few of my favorite pics of the boys in the shower.

This is his new trick with his fist tight and arms tenses up. He just cracks up doing it cause I do it back and it's our little game. And who can resist that smiley face!

Our Surprise!

This is our new addition to our family. I was finally able to have an ultrasound yesterday and be given a due date. It's been crazy this time because I have had absolutely no idea when I could have possibly gotten pregnant. All the others, I could pinpoint within a day or two. I went to the Dr the beginning of July for a routine appt and asked for a pregnancy test. At that time I told them what I was experiencing and felt like I had a lot of signs and symptoms of pregnancy. So, they did one and it came up negative. I accepted those results as accurate because a Dr's office test should be pretty accurate, I thought. And so I started on birth control. Little did I know, I was already pregnant. So after being on it one round and not becoming regular again I decided to just take a test to be sure even though honestly I thought it would be negative. But 2 tests later it was still positive. I was in shock! Danny was in shock! So, basically I haven't had a period in months and months so we didn't have a clues how far a long I could possibly be. So, after my Dr's appt yesterday she had me get an ultrasound and they then calculated that I'm 12wks+3days. I'm a lot further along than we thought and the Dr thought. So, basically the office pregnancy test was not accurate for me and I was pregnant then. So, our new addition will make his or her appearance some near March 23rd! It hasn't seemed real to me yet. I really haven't had any pregnancy symptoms besides extreme fatigue but that seems to have past already. So, seeing this new little baby moving and the heart beating made me excited to welcome our last baby to the family. It really helped make it real for me seeing it's little arms and legs squirming all over.

It finally happened!

It finally happened for Nate. He finally lost his first tooth! He was so super excited! He told us it was loose on Saturday and he was so excited then. I'm pretty sure between then and now he continually played with it to get it looser and looser. Well, we were out running errands when he blurted out: "My tooth came out!" I was a little stunned! I look back at him and he has a little bit of blood on his finger and he's holding his tooth. I took the tooth from him and gave him a napkin to clean up. This tooth is so stinkin' small! He has the tiniest teeth I have ever seen! He can't wait to see what the tooth fair brings him, he's pretty sure it's a female and on Saturday he told grandpa that he wanted $1000. He's going to be pretty disappointed because it's not going to be anywhere near that amount. But none the less he will be excited for whatever he gets!
