What we've been up to

This post is all about what we've been up to lately:

The Family
We've began geocaching thanks to Vern and Shelly's idea from their blog. This is our first 'cache' The boys absolutely love it! It's one big treasure hunt for them. It's been a really good family activity that we do together. We didn't even know how many were out there. This is the "Crooked Tree", we've walked past this tree many times on our walks near Penguin park.
It was found in a small hole on the back side. You can see it's sting hanging out.

Nate
Nate went to the eye dr and his exam revealed that his left eye is not were it should be. So, the Dr wanted to begin patching again. He had a choice of the patch or doing the drops that dialate your eye each day but he hates the drops. He's actually doing really well about it all. He willingly puts his patch on every day and was excited to get new glasses. His main motivation behind it all is because he wants to drive when he's older so he's doing everything he has too to make it happen. He now has 3 sets so there's no excuse not to wear them.

This set of glasses, according to his own words, are his "Velma" glasses from scooby doo.

Josh
Josh started football with the start smart program. He is having a lot of fun and enjoying learning some of the football basics. It's really cute to see him out there doing the different drills. We've had 2 practices now and it has been so blasted hot, near 110 degrees! We just need it to cool down- at least to the low 90's, that's not asking too much!

Colton
Now our little Colton boy, he just graduated to a big bed. We got a bunkbed for him and Audrey to share eventually. He's actually transitioned to the big bed really well. This is him below in his big boy bed. And just look at all the room that kid has to roll around in.

This is where he'd like to sleep but mommy and daddy won't let him cause it's the top bunk.

Audrey
She's just growing too fast! She now is pushing herself up off the ground with her hands and feet. Seriously I can't get enough of her- she is the best baby EVER! So I hope you enjoy these shots of my beautiful girl as much as I do!

Look at that pouty lip!

It's summer...need water

3 amigos

It's summer time and the heat is on. It has been so hot. This has been a great purchase for the boys, for our family. Danny and I have even gotten in this little pool on the hot sweltering nights of Misery, I mean Missouri. Audrey has taken a dip a time or two but I haven't got a picture of her in it yet.

Big boy-little slide.

I took a picture of Audrey and myself while we were watching the boys on the slippin slide. This is the best one I could get of us. Just check out those cheeks!

Check out those thighs! What can I say, she's gettng some good cream!

Look at this beauty! I Love this close up one of her!

My Cole-Man and princess. She didn't so much like his cold, wet body next to her.

Look at the happiness on Nate's face!

Can you tell that Josh is having a blast!

Colton is getting a helping hand from Daddy. But after that first push, he didn't need any more help, he figured it out pretty quickly. He loved it!

Thanks to grandma for all the fun of the slippin slide!

Deanna Rose Farmstead

We had a free Monday morning so we decided on visiting the Deanna Rose Farmstead. After 2 years of being here and being told we should visit it-we made it. This is a farmstead and has a variety of farm animals for us city folks to view. It's free to the public because the founder, Deanna Rose, had a love of animals and wanted to share that love with everyone else. The boys had a blast. We would have stayed longer but our bellies were aching for some food cause we made a dumb mistake and went shortly before lunch. That's why we'll just have to go back.

Nate and Josh had to get up there and get a picture. As you can see Josh could barely reach.

Nate had to have his photo at the mining exhibit.

Colton is pointing out the little calf to us.

Josh is milking the cow, Nate did it too, but we couldn't get Colton to touch it.

3 of my 4 little calves.

Nate in front of a tepee
.
Josh outside his own tepee.

Audrey and mommy had their own tepee. Colton was being weird and refused to get near them.

We splurged and let them enjoy a small ride on a horse. Josh got to enjoy it a little longer cause the horse took a good long potty break while he was on him.

Nate takes his turn and loves it!

While the boys rode the horse, Danny bought some duck food and let Colton feed the ducks. He absolutely loved that. His brothers however, wanted to steal all his duck food. They didn't like that we wouldn't give them any-kind of ticked them off. Hehehe!

And finally a good close shot of our princess. She's just the sweetest baby girl we could ask for. She was so good the entire time, she even fell asleep in her front carrier. We had a great time, just crazy how long it took us to get here. So, also sorry about all the text being different and underlined. I can't figure out what I did to make it underlined and so I don't know what I need to do to undo it and it's super late. I'm just going to publish it this way cause it's midnight and I'm ready to get in bed so sorry.

Mommies Dress

Oh, how I love this little girl!

When I was in Utah, my mom found a bag of baby clothes from when I was growing up. We went through everything and there were some cute things, allbeit 30 years old. So, I put her in this dress, my dress that I wore 30 years ago. I really wish I had a picture of myself in it to totally compare. I know we have one cause I looked at it while I was there. So if you remember me as a baby you'll have to tell me if Audrey looks like me or not.

4th of July

For the 4th we went to Kearny's celebrations. It was actually held on the 3rd, that Saturday instead of Sunday. We really wanted to go to last year's site, Leavenworth Base but they were doing it on Sunday so we had to make other arrangements. Danny found this one and it couldn't have been funner if we'd tried. Right before we were going to leave it started pouring so we didn't know if we were going to go but it did let up so we packed us a sack lunch and went. So, this is of us having our dinner.

Who doesn't love a rice crispy treat!

The boys were playing catch with each other very nicely-it was a nice site.

We headed off to the park. Fireworks were held at the Jesse James park and it was an awesome park. We've actually went back again already because it was such a fun place. I couldn't believe how big the slides were and the cool spider web climber was. The boys loved it, even with tons of people there it wasn't too bad because it was such a big place to play.
Look at how high those slides are!

A good view of some of the park, I didn't get the merry go round, teeter-totter or the swings in this shot.
Nate on the spider web.

Colton on one little slide.

Momma and her best girl.

our little climber Josh

Colton is seriously the best hanger. He can so hang on for so long. We have contests with the boys to see who can hang the longest and hands down Colton wins everytime. He absolutely loves to hang!
Danny really isn't holding his hand. He was just getting him up there.

The boys coming down the slides.

They had a few big bouncy toys there that the kids could all enjoy and the best thing it was FREE! I love free things! Plus they also gave out free pieces of some yummy watermelon!

I love the surprised look on Audrey!

Finally getting dark so they can play with their glow sticks.
One last shot before the fireworks began.

The "Mustache"

So, Danny likes to go weeks without shaving and would love a full on beard. But because of the Guard he has to shave on a monthly basis. Which thank goodness because I frankly don't like it. I actually don't mind the day 3-4 of no shaving look-that would be my first choice but my 2nd choice is clean shaven. Anyways the other day I was asking him if it wasn't time to shave cause I was tired of the scruff. He started joking that he'd shave it all but keep a mustache. Well, I didn't think he'd do it and really didn't want him to. Well, Sunday morning he dissappeared for a while downstairs then asked if I noticed anything different. He had went down to my salon and shaved everything but his mustache. I busted up laughing! He said he did it to prove me wrong. He kept saying that he looked like Tom Sellick, not really, but he thought so. Secretly I think he really liked the look but Tuesday morning he shaved it off for work. So, no more 'stache' on Danny. But here's the evidence that he had one!
